Frame stripdown

On Friday morning, we got up early again and got to work stripping the frame down.

We started with the driveshafts, followed by the muffler, and all hoses attached to the engine…

Then, we removed the gear shift linkage, unbolted the transmission and engine mounts, and hoisted the engine and transmission out in one piece. The passenger side engine mount would not separate from the engine, so instead we unbolted the mount from the frame, and left it attached to the engine as we lifted it out.

Maurice put together a nice wodden frame for the engine to rest on until it is put back in the car. Also notice in the pictures that my frame number is 3911 – as usual with DeLoreans, this does not match the VIN number of the car, which is 3810.

Onto the next page!
