Building a DeLorean Body Buck
Back in Neil's workshop, these pictures show how Neil built a lifesize buck of a DeLorean body by applying the measurements he had taken at different points along my car onto individual sheets of plywood. The sheets were then cut-out along the marked points, and mounted the same spacing apart as the measurements were taken.
Neil used an RSJ backbone to hold the plywood cutouts as a homage to the backbone chassis in a DeLorean! Wire was used to simulate the window openings. You can see my DeLorean in some pictures below as I visited Neil's workshop to see the progress
It was amazing to see the body buck - you could really see the shape of the DeLorean coming through.
Now it gets even more interesting - the next pages show the process of stainless steel fabrication!
